Bev Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 Can anyone recommend any sticky ones that actually stick? I need to put them on the kickplate under the desks and I just can't physically nail/screw them but the sticky ones keep falling off. Cable situation is getting very desperate so I need something that will work.
timbo343 Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 We used to have a load of metal plates that came with Hillscomponents kensington locks - they were very sticky. Im not sure if they still do them with the locks as i would have contacted them to see if you could just purchase the plate. The ther thing to use would be... - rapid drying alurdite (spelling ?) The white and red tubes - gorrilla glue or paste - sticks like s**t from screw fix or pink grip - maybe silicon gel / sealer / stix all - glue-gun glue Use the above to stick the plastic brackets to the desk. 1
jthompson Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 I've got a roll of 3M double-sided foam tape which I've used for a few things like this. Not sure exactly what the product is, but it's definitely 3M branded and has red plastic on one side (that you peel off) and is a black sticky foam about 1-2mm thick. Very stong hold, so might do it.
mgs1990 Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 The one's i got from screwfix last year are still holding up 10m of rope light i hung under the soffit's last Christmas. so should easily hold some cables
TomHD Posted December 7, 2017 Posted December 7, 2017 I have always had trouble with the adhesive giving up over time... Hot glue gun was my solution, holds forever under normal stresses and can be pulled off using a bit more force if needed
