Printer preferences in Chinese

The report was Windows 10 1709 print preferences is display in chinese. At first I though it was a windup but sure enough it's chinese all right.

 

The print server is running 2016 and the print preferences on the server are correct with no option to change the language anyway so I don't know how this has happened.

are you sure you installed the english driver?

 

I looked om our ricoh and no option to change it in printer settings

Nothing has changed on the print server for 6 months but after printing a test print on the workstation and the print server I see the workstation has decided to install a newer driver. Next is to run a test print on a 1703 machine to see if it's confined to the 1709 machines.

Update:

It seems windows 10 will install it's own drivers if it doesn't like the drivers provided by the print server. Checking 1703 and 1709 machines both showed different drivers so after installing the latest drivers from Ricoh the Chinese writing has gone.

 

I still get the Ricoh app message though which was never there under 1703.
