Hi all,

Hope someone can shed a bit of light on installing Apple Configurator 2 on a MacBook as I feel really thick at the moment. I've been tasked with setting up 15 iPads and wanted to use AC2 with a MacBook to set these up. We have registered for Apple School Manager, DEP(but don't have MDM), VPP, etc. When I log onto the MacBook and go to the VPP site it allows me to purchase(free) Apple Configurator 2, but I can't see how to get this to install on to the MacBook. It mentions about receiving an email after purchase but I have not had any emails. Am I missing something???

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I tried going to the App Store on the Mac, and browsed to Apple Configurator 2, but when trying to install the app it just states that I have to use VPP and takes me to the VPP store. I also tried creating a new Apple ID on the Mac to access AC2 through the App store, but it fails each time I try to create a new Apple ID. I used an Apple ID created with Apple School Manager when I set up the MacBook....could that be the problem? Do I need to remove the Apple ID associated with VPP and then try and create a new Apple ID that is not associated with VPP? Thanks again and any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Once Apple have confirmed that your AppleID is associated with VPP, the moment you browse the VPP store, buy a free item, quantity 1000 like we do. When you go into AC2 and create a blueprint, when adding the Apps into the blueprint it will require you to login and when you do you apps you have purchased will appear with the quantity underneath each app.
