kalair Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 Hi All, Apart of cost saving measures (urgh hate that phrase!!), SLT are thinking about bring the School website in house, does anyone do there own website and what CMS do you use? Many Thanks
hardtailstar Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 At my last school we used Wordpress. Really simple to use.
tj2419 Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 Yes, we do designed and updated all internally. We use Wordpress as well so it's quite quick to update. Only pain was getting it setup in the beginning. We still have it hosted externally though with our ISP.

jthompson Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 At a previous school we hosted the website in house. It was built on Joomla. The school's internet connection was not the most reliable, so when it went down.. no website. I'd recommend having it hosted externally, even if you maintain the site and its CMS yourself. That way there's always a website on which to post about the school being closed due to a power outage, etc.
kidpressingbuttons Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 html site here with couch cms- wasn't overly fond of it at the beginning but now love it. Much more versatile than wordpress. +1 for wordpress though if you havent got time to edit your own php/html
