Solus 3 Deployment Service not Starting

Hi,

 

Hope someone can help. We had a long power outage last night and our SIMS server went down. Started back up OK and SIMS itself is working fine. I can fire up SOLUS on the SIMS server - but the solus3 deployment service will not start in the server - if I try and manually start it it fails.

 

Any thoughts on how to fix this? I need SIMS install on a server for Monday AM - is there a manual alternative to using SOLUS for a on off? I can call Capita on Monday - but would like SIMS on this otherr server before then.

Anything in the logs when you restart the service?

I've restarted and it make no difference. Logs show for the failed deployment service startup:

 

Service cannot be started. System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Sims.Solus3.Common.LoggingHelper, Version=3.11.61.1, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

File name: 'Sims.Solus3.Common.LoggingHelper, Version=3.11.61.1, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'

at Sims.Solus3.DeploymentServer.DeploymentService.ServiceManager.Start()

at System.ServiceProcess.ServiceBase.ServiceQueuedMainCallback(Object state)

 

WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF.

To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.

Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging.

To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog].

 

Any ideas?

I've managed to get SIMS working on the server I wanted by copying the SIMS folder from another machine and copying teh sims.ini file. Did not expect that to work - but it did. Call to Captia about the deployment service on Monday...

I had a similar thing when the sql database for SOLUS3 became corrupt after a forced shutdown. Could be worth checking the database in the sql management to make sure it is mounted and not “suspect”.

Capita just reinstalled Solus on the SIMS server - only took them about 10 minutes and it was all sorted.
