Norphy Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 USB C port but still no Thunderbolt. For a device that starts at $1500, that's pretty lame.
DalekSec Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 A gaming powerhouse. ... it has a GTX 1050...... That's like calling North Korea a nuclear powerhouse
sted Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 have they designed it to look like a mac laptop even teh space ish wallpaper screams mac to me. Hope the failure rate isnt as bad as ive heard about the 1st version. ms do have a bit of a track record for hardware faults look at the early 360s and for the same reason form over function
zag Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Just got the last edition surface book and its a great device, I'm sure this one is even better. I think they sorted the screen wobbling problem.
Arthur Posted October 17, 2017 Author Posted October 17, 2017 UK prices...  www.microsoft.com/en-gb/surface/devices/surface-book-2/overview
zag Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Wow! crazy expensive! I got the 1st generation model for £900 I think!! I'm not playing games on the thing so happy with my purchase.
sted Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Might as well but MacBook Pro in think for the money id be looking at a dell xps13
DalekSec Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 I'd go with the LG Gram personally, much better value for money!
VeryPC_Colin_M Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Or the latest VeryPC Ultrabook S... mighty fine Value For Money :-) I must admit the Surface Book wasn't exactly a best seller for us, the cost made it prohibitive to the majority of my customer base and when wallet, head and heart were combined, Lenovo ate a fair chunk of the Surface Book lunch.
flyinghaggis Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 (edited) ... it has a GTX 1050...... That's like calling North Korea a nuclear powerhouse To be fair you can also spec it with a mobile GTX 1060 6Gb which, looking at a few benchmarks, means it's pretty much up there and on a par with the Geforce 980 I currently have in my desktop. Still as much as I like it (and even taking into account it could probably replace my desktop PC) it's impossible to seriously consider it given that price tag !
