Microsoft Teams

We’ve used Microsoft SDS along with Salamander to create Microsoft Teams for all of your school classes.

 

With a bit of tweaking we’ve added additional owners to the groups so we can keep an eye on classes and how they’re being used and we’ve also managed to hide all those pesky emails from the GAL.

 

However Teams doesn’t seem to be functioning correctly. We have a ticket open with Microsoft but I’m just being passed from Team to Team at the moment.

 

When I browse to a Team the only thing working is the conversation tab.

 

When I click on the tabs for Files, Notebook or Assignments I get the standard ‘we are just setting things up, please refresh the page after a few minutes’ message and that’s been like that since Monday.

 

Is anyone using Teams and have you come across this before?

Does this happen out of school? Just in case its a filtering/proxy issue.

Happens outside of school too as filtering was the first thing we checked as we weren’t whitelisting all the required URLs for Teams to work.

We're using Teams and seeing no issues, however I've added our teams manually. Perhaps its something with Salamander?

I’ve tried creating a Team manually and have the same problem so I’m beginning to think it might be something to do with SharePoint.

 

There seems to be others experiencing similar issues when searching Google but no one has a definitive fix!

We're using teams with Salamander and SDS, but we don't have the issue. We are only hiding a couple of groups so I am going to hide them all, maybe that is causing the issue.

We had the issue even before we hid the groups, it’s very strange and even has the guys at Microsoft scratching their heads!

Used Ruler connect SDS feature and teams with no issues so far.

 

Have actually turned it on in the admin console? I had to go there to enable it for teachers and students from memory. You can also disable gifs and emojis in there too.

 

You should have been sent an automated email when you first used SDS from a guy called

He can sort any issues and its his job to get people up and running.

Yes it’s turned on within the Admin console for all users as we made sure to disable the private chatting feature.

how did you add additional owners to the groups, salamander cant do this at the moment and i need add SLT and Administrators to the classes?

You should just be able to add them manually from the office 365 portal.

I’m pretty sure Salamander can do this now that’s what I was told by one of their support guys recently.
