IT Technician/Desktop Support – N London - £30k to £33k

Our client, a prestigious independent school in North London, are looking for an IT Technician/Desktop Support to join their team.

 

The school is situated in one of the most attractive and sought after areas of North London, only a short journey from Central London.

 

The classrooms are equipped with leading-edge technology to support teaching and learning. The school is fully networked, providing high-speed internet connectivity to the whole community. The recent implementation of IPads for classroom use and by teachers has run parallel with the installation of a business-grade Wi-Fi network.

 

Main Responsibility:

- Providing first-class, customer focused IT support across a diverse and challenging user community.

- Building and updating operating systems and applications images for desktop and laptop computers

- Creating user network and email accounts, including ensuring new accounts are members of appropriate security and distribution groups.

- Provide customers face-to-face support to resolve IT-related queries

- Updating the service desk system with progress, managing communication with customers through to completion of incidents.

- Updating and maintaining documentation

 

Essential Criteria:

- Experience of support technologies such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows, SIMS, Firefly, IPads/IOS, SCCM and Office 365

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical matters in a simple language to staff and pupils

- Good numeracy and literacy skills

- Ability to work well as a member of a team

- Self-motivated

- Be friendly and polite

 

Desirable Criteria:

- An honors degree in a relevant subject

- Experience in working in the education sector
