mikeprice Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 just posting this as a possible solution in case anyone else gets this We have some Dell E6510s which work well except for an annoying fault that appears sometimes - the mouse pointer starts moving across the screen on its own without any input I have been looking for a fix for ages but as it comes and goes it have been difficult to work out what has worked and what hasn't it appeared to be the touchpad as cleaning it often stopped the problem However - I have just had one with a fairly consistent 'weird mouse' problem and it seems to have been fixed by disabling the track stick - aka nipple mouse - thingy in the middle of the keyboard - that no-one uses anyway I think this MAY solve the whole problem!

Thanks for the info We do have some generic chargers but gave up with them as the Dells don't always play with them - so they are all on Dell chargers now

Fazza Posted October 24, 2017 Posted October 24, 2017 I too have had a problem with nipples! Ive seen this with the 'proper' IBM Thinkpads that had the nipple things and a quick rub/wiggle and the pointer stopped moving on it's own - think it just got a bit dirty or something.
