Arthur Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 A biologist's husband disappears. She puts her name forward for an expedition into an environmental disaster zone, but does not quite find what she's expecting. The expedition team is made up of the biologist, an anthropologist, a psychologist, and a surveyor.
LeMarchand Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Apparently this has been pulled from a UK theatrical release and is going straight to Netflix.
fiza Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Apparently this has been pulled from a UK theatrical release and is going straight to Netflix. That bad?
Arthur Posted December 14, 2017 Author Posted December 14, 2017 That bad? Isn't that the modern equivalent of going straight to DVD?
siuko Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 The trailer looked quite interesting to me - reminded me of Roadside Picnic / Stalker
LeMarchand Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Isn't that the modern equivalent of going straight to DVD? Pretty much! That bad? I think it's less of a risk for Paramount. No need to produce and distribute a load of disks or to spend loads on publicity (as Netflix will do their own). As Annihilation seems to fall into the same "intellectual SF" arena as box office failures Arrival and BR2049 (both good films) I guess it makes sense. Shame, as it looks promising.
