mulderite Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Having finally accepted that using ClassicShell was a bad idea (in terms of freezing/hanging of the Start Menu and File Explorer) I'm now ditching it and trying to get the dreaded tile layout to work with our roaming profiles again. One issue I'm finding right off the bat is that if I add File & Internet Explorer shortcuts to my tile layout, they do not show when it is applied to a roaming user - threre are only spaces where they should be. Am I right in saying this is because these particular shortcuts also need copying into the 'C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs' folder on each workstation? If this isn't the case can someone point me to a walkthrough or particular thread that may help me with getting this working with roaming profiles? I'm using 1703. Thanks everyone.
skell Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Yes, they need copying down or pointing to a location where they exist.
sparkeh Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Just to point out that MS have stated that start menu deployment is not supported with roaming profiles Good luck though, and tell us if you get it working! [emoji3]
