WSUS - Clients connecting but failing to download.

Installed WSUS on server 2016, connected a completely updated windows 10 machine to it apart from office updates.

 

The laptop is checking in, its updated the list of required updates and have approved them however when clients try to download the updates it just failt.

 

Says: There were problems installing some updates.

 

Ive extended timers in IIS,and all updates have finished downloading to the WSUS server.

 

Any ideas.

 

Checked esd and cabe are in MIME, just gave everyone read access to the download folder just incase.

 

The WSUS IP address doesnt seem to appear in the resource monitor.

Well i got it to connect by doing something, not sure what it was.

 

However, its downloading the updates at 44 b/sec.

I am having similar issues. Restarting the server seems to wake it up and allow it to farm updates out speedily for awhile, then it sulks again and refuses to send out updates.

 

Clients either sit at "awaiting install" or at "downloading 0%".

 

I have reinstalled wsus, run the clean up wizard and done the following:

 

On your WSUS Server, launch the IIS Manager

Open Application Pools

Right click ‘WsusPool’ and select ‘Advanced Settings…’

To support the maximum clients, change ‘Queue Length’ from the default 1,000 to 25,000

 

If your server is NUMA aware, change ‘Maximum Worker Processes’ from the default 1 to 0. If you don’t know if your server is NUMA aware, leave this value default

 

Change ‘”Service Unavailable” Response Type’ from the default HttpLevel to TcpLevel

Change ‘Failure Interval (minutes) from the default 5 to 30

Change ‘Maximum Failures’ from the default 5 to 60

 

Click ‘OK’ to save the App Pool changes

From an administrative command prompt, type IISRESET

 

I am still having the issues but its might be a little better.
