Process to generate CSR for procuring SSL from third party for ADFS deployment

Hi

Our Active Directory server is Windows 2012 and I am working on migrating our exchange server 2007 to office 365 through the Hybrid deployment.

 

I would like to install the ADFS on our Active directory server and ADFS requires a trusted SSL certificate. To generate the CSR file, can I generate the certificate request from the (certlm.msc) certificate store of my AD server and send to the third party SSL certificate providers?

 

Or do I need to install the Active directory certificate services on the active directory server and then create the CSR request.
