[sims] Course Manager end dates/planned end dates

Hi everyone.

 

My MIS manager and Exams manager are at loggerheads for the second time today in two consecutive years about the same problem. I don't touch Course Manager, ever, so I haven't a clue who is right or wrong. MIS manager (and myself) do the Academic Year stuff and Exams manager does Course Manager stuff.

 

We set the Academic Year to run 04/09/17 - 20/07/18 which reflects our term dates.

 

In Course Manager I reckon 80% of the active courses have the correct End Date and P End Date.

 

However several have the End date or P End date set to 31/07/18 or 03/09/19 which is the last day before next years Academic Year.

 

Does anyone know whether (most / default) Course Manager dates are set automatically, or automatically-with-a-button, or manually? (I know you can change them per individual, but there's so many wrong that Exams are blaming MIS manager for setting something wrong elsewhere, and MIS blaming Exams) In other words, is someone doing something to cause a lot of these dates to be wrong, or is there a button that's caused it.

 

The Bulk Update button in Tools > Academic Management > Course Manager only pulls August dates back to 31st July, but the report is showing it won't change anything.
