Colour Laser Printer - Low Running Cost

Recommended Posts

Posted

Just been looking at buying toners for a Brother HL-4140 and HL-L8250 and almost fainted at the cost of the toners. (They gone up in the last few months...)

Just wondered what is the best low running cost colour laser printer (without getting a rental)

We find Kyocera's the best value all round although have started going more for the HP pagewide inkjets. Cheap to run and buy, cheap enough in fact we could keep spare printers for the cost of some toners!

Kyocera's always been good for us! Have you looked at managed contracts or are you completely against them? We carried out a detailed comparison last year and threw a couple into the mix to see how they compared not for a second thinking they were going to be able ot offer anything comparable to doing it outselves (I mean, how could they add a service and charge less?). Was blown away by price of a couple of companies and are now on a fully managed service with brand-new printers and paying less than we were annually on toners (using already economical printers)

Moved most of our printers over to Laser Life devices, we just buy their toner and get the printer for free, engineer when needed and hand it back when done.

My remanding printers I buy whatever cheap toners I can get from Amazon if urgent or a company called Ink Jet and Toners. Normally have some sort of deal going with freebies from them too, over the years we've had a chromebook, couple of iPads, discounted laptop meaning I only paid £125 for an i5, 4gb, 120ssd etc.

Kyocera fans here...from laserlife. They lease us the printers ...for free, provided we buy their toners. And of course they send out their engineers if they don't work.
