tobiasclarity Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Hi All, We are looking to buy an additional SAN to upgrade our existing HP P2000 G3 making this then our secondary storage. We are using VMWare at the moment also as a side note. I just wondered what everyone is currently using and your thoughts. We have been looking at Nimble and Dell Equallogic. We are leaning more towards Nimble however would be great to hear other opinions before we hit the button. Cheers all
snagrat Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 The new Fujitsu DX60 S4 is very impressive. Also some great pricing available at the moment being as it is a new model
soapyfish Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 We expanded our P2000G3 with a D2700 connected via 6GBps SAS this means that we can easily add the storage to our existing infrastructure, compatibility was assured. it was cheap <6K with 25x 10K 600GB SAS drives.

I've seen the single controller 2x1Gb one for around £2000exVAT Circa £8500 for dual controller, 12x 1.8TB drives and a 5 year warranty. PM me if you wanna know where from, I know the company got a bid price for it as they are a Fujitsu reseller 1
Tefters Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Coraid, either buy prebuilt or make your own. AOE technology is pretty awesome in a VMware setup.
Chris_ Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 We replaced our SAN with a Quantum QXS box from Stone Computers, it's got a mix of 10k SAS and SSD for fast cache. Happy with the performance so far. Had a quote from Nimble storage also but it was much more more expensive!
