Domino Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Hey all, Just had a demo from Lightspeed of there Total Network Control system, and aprt from being client-server based (Yuck), it looked okay. Anyone got any experience with it?

Domino Posted March 18, 2009 Author Posted March 18, 2009 Well, this was at my previous place, but we put in a smoothwall for filtering (made of win...), which was why we first looked at lightspeed. Had a fog server for images running in conjunction with a computer deployment/mainter that name escapes me for the moment (getting old...) Smoothwall express for bandwidth/qos on each side of our fibre link between sites, policies etc by Group policy, other bits and piece by homebrew scripts and apps. Basically to my mind it seemed a lot of money and a painful on the install for what was essentially achievable in other ways

I have never heard of anything like it before very comprehensive it covers Enterprise Reporting, Web Content Filter, Anti-Spam, Email Journal, Firewall, Bandwidth Management, Policy Management, Anti-Virus & Spyware Zero Hour Threat Protection, Device Control The senior managers at our place (mainly) love it and so do our techies for the functionality-warning -it is expensive -But I would say great for schools and colleges as well because of the security for the kids and having little brothers in school i want them to be safe
