[sccm 2012] SCCM Boot Files

Hi All,

 

Looking for some advice, got a new SCCM 2012 R2 server patched to CU4.

I've currently got a boot file for WinPE for Windows 10 images, however, we need to deploy a small Windows 7 to a small number of devices which are not supported on Windows 10.

 

Is there a way to have four boot files:

2 for Windows 7 (x64 and x86)

2 for Windows 10 (x64 and x86)

You only need the two Windows 10 PE boot images. They can also deploy Windows 7 images.

 

Btw, SCCM 2012 R2 officially only supports Windows 10 1507 and 1511. You'll probably need to upgrade SCCM if you want to deploy Windows 10 1607 or 1703.

Not for PXE as far as I know but you could create the Win7 ones for CD Media and just boot those machines from CD

Do you need separate boot.wim files. I setup a new 1610 server last week and just using boot.wim that I created with wdk, for windows 7 and 10. What version of windows 10 are you deploying as I thought only later versions of sccm support later versions of win 10 deployment.

Not for PXE as far as I know

I only have two Windows 10 boot images in my SCCM (v1702) and can deploy both Windows 7 and 10 images via PXE boot without any issue.

 

 

I double-checked my task sequences and they are both using the exact same boot image.
