Home cable advice

Hi,

 

Just a quick question...

 

I’m cabling a few rooms in the house with Cat 6 cable, which will be used for sky via hdmi over Ethernet, and it will also have an internet connection. This will be on the wall via a back box and two cat 6 face plates. My question is, I need all of the cables to have RJ-45 ends on, while the other end will be connected to the face plate.

 

What’s the colour code for the end which the RJ-45 end will be terminated.

 

I’ve previously used orange white orange, green white blue, blue white green, brown white brown. But this doesn’t work for the set up I’m using.

 

Any advice, at the moment, I’m not wanting to use a patch panel etc, will probably do that in our new house.

Assuming the cat 6 will connect to a switch/home hub/home router etc.... then most Ethernet cables you use to connect your devices to the face plates will be T568B wiring standards so your leads will need to follow the same standard. Then cable test the installation to make sure the IDs are correct

White and orange

Orange

White and green

Blue

White and blue

Green

White and brown

Brown
