DalekSec Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 I'm looking for replacements for our older Brother HL-21 Printers, turns out there is a lot of competition in this area of the market so unsure what to get! The printers need to be: Networkable, Duplex, Laser Mono, Under £200 really, Cheap running costs (Toner price and page yield) and not to tall in height (The current ones are 17cm high so don't want it massively bigger than that if needs be) Any of you guys recommend some printers? My short list is currently this: Printer Name Cost Page Yield Toner Price Height Difference Hp LaserJet Pro M402dne £155-£188 3100 £22-£40 +5cm Brother HL-L2365DW £132 2600 £10-£35 +1cm Samsung M2825ND £85 3000 £16-£53 +3cm Xerox Phaser 3260DNI £124 3000 £33-52 +5cm Samsung Xpress M2835DW £143 3000-6200 £33-55 +3cm
newpersn Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Oki B412 mono laser printer? I got 2 of these seem to be cheep to run (eco mode on 1 and no one noticed yet)
localzuk Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Personally I would go with the Brother. Wouldn't touch OKI with a bargepole after the last ones we had of theirs. Great thing about Brother is the compatibles are usually very cheap!
elsiegee40 Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Personally I would go with the Brother. Wouldn't touch OKI with a bargepole after the last ones we had of theirs. Me neither. Scarred for life by the two we had.
FN-GM Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 I also don't like OKI. We had some colour lasers. The quality was really good, but they were unreliable and very expensive to run.
AJWhite1970 Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 We've got several HP LaserJet M402's in student areas and they are pretty bomb proof to the point I'd almost consider putting one in the PE office....
DalekSec Posted July 6, 2017 Author Posted July 6, 2017 Never even heard of OKI, i think it's a toss up between the Samsung M2825ND and Brother HL-L2365DW
newpersn Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 I also don't like OKI. We had some colour lasers. The quality was really good, but they were unreliable and very expensive to run. Wouldn't touch there colour lasers but monos seem to be alright so far.... plus 3 years warranty
Bompalompalomp Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Stay away from OKIs if you value your sanity. A mess of toners, compatibility issues with non-originals and error codes that mean 20 different things. Also stay away from HP Officejets if you ever consider inkjet printers. Never had too many problems with their lasers though. I'd go Brother since it's already on your shortlist, the Brothers I've used have all been pretty reliable.
XiJ Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Oki B412 mono laser printer? I got 2 of these seem to be cheep to run (eco mode on 1 and no one noticed yet) Put one of these in and it's been nothing but trouble. The company Oki used for repairs were useless too. The replacement is okay but they feel cheap too. Used to love the older oki colour lasers - until they got very expensive to run.
Guest MD5T Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 HP? I'd for HP 3015dn. They're quite big printers but the toner lasts ages. Also, they very rarely break down.
fiza Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 HP? I'd for HP 3015dn. They're quite big printers but the toner lasts ages. Also, they very rarely break down. Can vouch for 3015dn printers. Got 5 and they have been rock solid. Am looking at a Lexmark MS610dn which I am told works out to 1.1p per print. Also looking at Epson RIPS system which is like managed print.
