The office 365 Client and Volume Licensing

OK, updating my wsus server and saw a product called Office 365 client, I assume this allow pupils to use office products but with their office 365 licence. I'm wondering should I change my Volume licence subscription to not include the desktop pack, remove office 2013 from my PCs and deploy the office 365 client to save money?

 

I'm just about to renew any short answers would be great.

You will probably find that you're only entitled to the Office 365 client because of your volume licensing for Office. Certainly, mine is only included because I license the desktop pack. Office 365 is also deployed and managed differently to Office 2013/2016 etc (per user) so unless you also change the way you manage it I wouldn't bother. It's not a cost saving measure.

Actually, Office 365 licensing is come up with different types of channels and programs. Every program has a different cost. Generally, the user buys the program as per objective or need of their work. You can get no. of volume licensing such as Web Direct (MOSP), EA/EAS, Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) with the Business Essentials, Business Premium, Enterprise K1, Enterprise E1 and much more.
