FN-GM Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 G Suite has its own backup and recovery system built in. You can restore peoples mail and documents if they have deleted them etc. This is one of the reasons we are leaving 365.
colly72 Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Veeam are currently doing a free 1 year license for Office 365 email backup, for existing customers. Doesn't backup Sharepoint/Onedrive at the moment though, I don't think.
Michael Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 OneDrive for Business I believe has a 30 day recycle bin. Likewise deleted e-mails are kept in line with your data retention policies. Maybe worth exploring whether or not Azure Backup will backup OneDrive.

Michael Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Thing is, you also have to question are backups necessary in the cloud. Azure makes 6 copies (3 per datacentre), per cycle, and I suspect copies of OneDrive data must also be made in different locations.

Or email's get deleted which need to be recovered.... As for VEEAM module... have you seen the cost of it?! prohibitive! TwistedHelixis Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 We use Google as it comes with unlimited retention period for an unlimited amount of docs, emails etc. The only downside I can think of is if Google gets knocked of the map by an EMP blast, the backups also go down.

If there's an emp blast big enough to take out a continent's worth of Google data centres I won't be worrying about retention policies.
