Blocking user emailing each other

We have two users (staff) on the network, who are arguing between each other this has now become a union issue.

What I need to know is how I stop all the two people mailing each other but receive emails on the global list.

This is a good one for the Head to ask me at the end of the week

Without knowing your particular method of email provision its impossible to help.

 

It should be possible to redirect the mail to the bin if it matches sent from x to y, and vice versa.

Is this really a technological problem though? Surely it should be enough to tell them, stop emailing each other unless work related or else. Or am I being to idealistic?

maybe take their e-mail away all together? seems like your having to use technology to solve a non-technical problem....

Out of the office all day, so can't remember exact path, but in AD on Exchange, for that particular users, Exchange General tab, Message Restrictions, "Receive from everyone except", then add in the other person.

Thanks for that i have given the head that option and now the goal posts have been moved again.

he wants me to quarentine there emails and release the ok ones.

think i will read the spam filter manual now.

If they're going to behave like kids, treat them like kids - remove their email access It's what you'd do to kids who were doing this to each other

I think the only workable solution is to suspend their email access from the school system until this matter is resolved otherwise they are interferring with an ongoing investigation.

 

You can't be expected to police this matter yourself.

 

If they then continue using web based or personal accounts it's out of your hands.

In AD, Go to the User's Properties, Exchange General, Delivery Restrictions.

 

At the bottom you can make it so they will receive email from everyone except specified.

 

I would just tell the head the Quarantine request isnt' possible.

Thanks for all your help I have spoke to the head and added him as a recepient for both parties emails at the end of the day its hsi decision what to do about this.

It seems to be that we are thought of as the technology police and people with no feelings about matters and to be honest i dont feel comfortable reading other users mail.

i would rather members of the senior managment team do that.

It might worthwhile helping the head to set up a couple of outlook rules to divert the copied emails into inbox sub-folders. That way (s)he has the emails in one place and they're not getting mixed up with their own.

Could you set all their emails to be copied to the Head? It isn't a quarantine, but it should stop them sending inappropriate mail...

Whats the argument about? Can you not forward the e-mails to this site for us all to see?
