Hi, We keep having a strange issue with our Promethean Interactive Screens. We have our PC's setup to clone the monitor and screen.

Teachers are opening a PowerPoint and putting it in slideshow mode and then freezing the screen, they are doing this so the pupils can see the PowerPoint whilst the teachers takes a register on the classroom monitor.

As soon as the teacher presses Esc to exit slideshow mode the display settings change from cloned to just single display. The single display is the interactive screen though.

The problem we are having is teachers have then not told us about the problem and just turn the interactive screen off at the end of the lesson. Doing this brings the monitor back on as the single display.

Next teachers comes alone and turns the interactive screen on, monitor turns off again, interactive screen is the single display.

We are then having to clone the screens again until it happens again.

I have done a bit of testing and found if i make sure the interactive screen is on before the PowerPoint is put in slideshow mode we don't get the problem. Teachers are forgetting this required sequence though.

Has anyone else had this issues?

Hi mshakespeare,

I want to setup a test bed here to have a look at this.

Can you let me know exactly how everything is connected and by which cables?

If you could get the product code of one of the ActivPanels as well so that I can test using the same version.

I would also need to know what version of Office you are using, and also how you currently have your screen arrangement settings set, i.e. which screen is screen 1 which one is 2, and which one is your "master" display and whether you are using extended display or not.

Thanks

Sorry for the slow reply. Our panels are the v4. Panel is connected to the PC via HDMi to DVi. Monitor is connected to the PC with a VGA. The office version we use is 2016. Running windows 10 education v1703. Display settings are setup to clone.

We have tried the settings suggested by RTi78 but it didnt help.

Main issues is if staff do not turn the panel on before the enter presentation mode in the powerpoint it will break. When the panel comes on the presention is still being clone until you press esc to come off the presentation. Display settings are just set to panel only.

Any ideas what this could be or how we get around this?

Thanks

Hi Matthew,

I would highly recommend that you contact our support team.

So staff are setting their computer up, starting powerpoint, and then going into presentation mode? Before they have even turned the ActivPanel on? I don't think there is a way of telling PowerPoint to push the presentation to the ActivPanel, when it will not be being seen by the computer.

As I said, it would be best to contact the support guys about this so they can set a full test bed up.

thanks
