ModeratelyGruntled Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Long shot - I've been tasked with trying to revive SuccessMaker 1.7.2. It's out of support, dependent on quicktime and a host of other reasons why I shouldn't, but I am. Server side installs fine, client side (with some tweaking) installs fine - but won't run in widescreen resolution. Well it will, but the username/password box aren't visible. Has anyone got any suggestions on how I can launch the SME shortcut (which points to a launch.txt file to fire up a JRE executable with all the necessaries added in via cmd parameters) to run in 1024 x 768? Or to change the resolution when the shortcut is run and revert back to widescreen after? Adding -height and -width after the target in the .ink or the .txt file it points to provides no joy. Cheers!
3s-gtech Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 (edited) Can you force it to run in windowed mode via the shortcut (Run: Normal window)? Edited June 21, 2017 by 3s-gtech
ModeratelyGruntled Posted June 21, 2017 Author Posted June 21, 2017 Normal window, minimised, maximised... doesn't make a slight bit of difference! I assume because it's calling the JRE which doesn't look at the shortcut properties.
3s-gtech Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Very possible. I haven't even got the installers for our last version now - it still resides on an archived VM but that's about it, so I can't delve into the setup. Really, the software is soooooo ancient you need to to explain that it just isn't compatible, especially if you have gone or are going to Windows 10. You can't work miracles! If this is a life or death situation, there are some more things to try: -window as a switch Run the software within App-V Cry and run away
