bondbill2k2 Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 Wondered if anyone could help me out with a rather annoying problem. A member of staffs account was accidentally deleted then re-created (not by myself) everything has been resolved now apart from 1 problem, when logging onto our remote desktop server they get the lovely "User profile services failed the logon userp rofile cannot be loaded". Their new login will have a new UID but I assume the name being the same as a previous account might of causd this issue. Profiles have been checked on the server and delprof2 ran, registry has been searched for mentions of his username with nothing found. No idea what the old UID for his account was so I'm unable to search that. Any suggestions on what to try next?
witch Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 Change the name? I usually put in a middle initial or a random number when recreating an account as I have had this or similar issues many times before
FN-GM Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 I don't know the answer to your question, but look at enabling the AD Recycle Bin for next time 1

It should be in the registry of any machine/RDS server they've logged in to if I remember rightly. I think it is... HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList EDIT: Or delete and recreate their profile. Thats what I do - delete and the reg key above on any problem machines. bondbill2k2 Posted June 7, 2017 Author Posted June 7, 2017 I don't know the answer to your question, but look at enabling the AD Recycle Bin for next time Shall do! It should be in the registry of any machine/RDS server they've logged in to if I remember rightly. I think it is... HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList The only entries are for other users (Expected at least to see a SID with his name under). The user account was made again from scratch, profile path added back in, old account removed from permissions on the profile and the new account added back on then his old 365 merged with the new account which had by that point synced to 365 and created a mailbox by the same name. He's able to logon to all other devices he used on his old account so I'm thinking somethings not been done quite right on the RDS server.
ReadTheNetwork Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 (edited) Are you using roaming profiles for RDPing? Have you checked the AD tab Remote Desktop Services Profile settings? Edited June 8, 2017 by ReadTheNetwork
