simonw Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 Is the pixilation due to a fault with the board or the projector? Anyone know why this has happened? All help greatly appreciated.
Achandler Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 Projector, likely a dead colour wheel which depending on age is likely a new projector.
BenQ_Royce Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 looks like the projector has a failing DMD chip, where the mirrors are sticking. I would suggest first reporting it to their warranty team and see what they say. if you describe it as looks like "iron filings on screen" they should know what the fault is. If it's outside of warranty scope/period then it will be more cost effective to replace the projector.
perculator Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 Been through this a lot with our SMART UF75s recently. It is the DMD/DLP chip, we have been replacing the chip. Its a bit of a pain but at a cost of around £110 per chip (ebay) and an hours worth of your time, it still our ways the cost of a new projector (for us anyway) Pic of chip shows the embedded dodgy pixels on the mirror, after the fix the projectors are like new, nice quality image and bright. Only done these a couple of weeks ago but seem to be good. Sorry about quality of pic.
Zipsterr Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 DMD projector chip issue more than likely - I think @perculator has the best solution
