joesheehan7221 Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 Hi All Experiencing a couple of issues with WSUS, and devices not reporting their status, but are checking in. As you can see, the clients are Windows 7 (x86), and are contacting the server, but have stopped reporting their status. Has anyone seen this before, and have a fix? I have tried the basics: Cleared the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder wuauclt /resetauthorizationwuauclt /detectnowwuauclt /reportnow Any and all help is gratefully received.
SpaceInvader83 Posted May 25, 2017 Posted May 25, 2017 I had a similar issue on mine and it turned out I just need to to tidy up my updates, I can only think when a client checks in it was taking too long going through all the approved updates, I had Windows XP updates still in there! https://community.spiceworks.com/scripts/show/2998-adamj-clean-wsus As soon as I cleaned it up all clients reported back perfectly ! 1
dapaulio Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 +1 @spr Go through all your updates and decline all the superseded updates. You can add the dupercedance column in wsus. Then run the cleanup wizard. 1
minimoo Posted May 27, 2017 Posted May 27, 2017 also maybe - https://www.404techsupport.com/2016/03/21/iis-wsus-private-memory/
toffee_paul Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 I've had the same issue with my WSUS server and running the Server Cleanup Wizard has helped some computers to report their status. I can't say for sure if all of them have but definfinely some have. As @dapaulio mentioned though, best to decline the superseded updates first then run the wizard, I skipped this step but will be doing it at some point. The script posted by @spr looks quality, might be using that from now on!
