Pear Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 I have a problem with the Edubuntu LTSP thin client setup. I've got to the point where I put a floppy disk in my thin client and boot and all seems to be going well until I come up with these errors. Begin: Running /scripts/init-bottom .... Done. mount: Mounting /root/dev on /dev/.static/dev failed: No such file or directory mount: Mouthing /dev on /root/dev failed: No such file or directory Target filesystem doesn't have /sbin/init /bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off After that I am thrown into the built in shell. The file sbin/init is on my server in the right place /opt/ltsp/i386.
Geoff Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 The NFS server isn't running on the Edubuntu Server.
Pear Posted February 1, 2006 Author Posted February 1, 2006 Yes it is getting an IP address. That would explain it Geoff, I'll check it first thing tomorrow. I thought Edubuntu LTSP was supposed to run without any config changes except to the dhcpd.conf file ???
Geoff Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 Well maybe its a bug. I hit the same problem with mine on the first attempt.
