Trojan Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 I have just found out (by accident) that over Easter the upstream bgfl WSUS server was switched off. Did anyone receive a notification from them about this? If anyone uses wsus.bgfl.eu as their updates source, they need to switch it back to Microsoft Update.
stevenlong1985 Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 I didn't hear anything from BGFL about this. I had to uninstall WSUS not long ago, in January/February. it was eating way at my storage, over 600GB of updates, it was annoying as I couldn't control what i was getting from BGFL. I did clear the updates and let it re-download them and yet again it fill up the storage.
Michael Posted May 19, 2017 Posted May 19, 2017 I don't use it anyway, so I take it they're not switching it back on?
stevenlong1985 Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 I found the document for this KB0013484 it was in the MIS section not as it should be in the Network & internet section. BGfL Upstream WSUS Server Retirement The BGfL WSUS server will be retired on 31st March 2017. Schools must ensure that they point their local WSUS server directly to Microsoft and not to the BGfL upstream WSUS server (http://WSUS.bgfl.eu). It is each school’s responsibility to check and amend the Update Source in their WSUS console. 1
