speckytecky Posted May 18, 2017 Posted May 18, 2017 We have two Hitachi CP-A222WNMEF projectors and both are suffering from a flickering display. The first one was swapped out under warranty - twice and that seemed to resolve the issue in the first place but the flicker came back. I thought the issue was fixed when I saw on a forum that someone else had had the same problem with a similar projector which they resolved by changing the power socket which it was plugged into. Tried that and it worked for a week with one projector but the flipping flicker is back. The second one has a new bank of high mounted sockets so tried the same on that one and it didn't make any difference at all. Naturally both are out of warranty now as well!

speckytecky Posted November 22, 2017 Author Posted November 22, 2017 An update on this one. Apologies to @Passat1983ICTech I never got back to answer your query. No splitter it was VGA but now we replaced that connection with a brand new HDMI. It's on the 1024 x 768 resolution. Yesterday I bit the bullet and replaced the bulb and filter but the Teaching Staff tell me it continues to suffer this flicker which comes out intermittently at the far right of the screen. Puzzling or what?
Passat1983ICTech Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 the other on is the driver on the pc - laptop are they up-to-date or screen refresh rate 1
NB9457 Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 Not much help, but we had a similar issue a Hitachi projector, tried everything above and ended up sending it back under warranty (thank god for 5 year guarantee. Sent back fixed, but they never told us what they actually repaired/replaced. I assume the LCD panel. 1
difinity Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 If you've tried a new bulb, then I'd suspect failing capacitors in the power supply. Their job is to smooth the ripples in the supply and I suspect this isn't happening as well as it should be. 1
speckytecky Posted November 22, 2017 Author Posted November 22, 2017 Thanks, folks. the driver is up to date. The Projector has actually been replaced - twice under warranty. that's good until Oct 2018 so I'll log another call!
gbiltd Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Bin it and purchase an Epson Still as reliable after using them as our main supplier after 16 years Great after sales too. 1
speckytecky Posted February 27, 2018 Author Posted February 27, 2018 Wish we had the budget to do so. I get the drift though - in fact, we do have several Epsons here that are circa 10 years old and a bit dim but still working okay. Bin it and purchase an Epson Still as reliable after using them as our main supplier after 16 years Great after sales too.
