Hi,

 

We are looking at ways of streaming footage from a camera to view on a school site - what have other people used for this?

I normally use a laptop with a webcam connected and stream via VLC

That was my original thought, but you can no longer enable NPAPI support in Chrome, so can't use an RTSP stream embed code.

It was a while ago but I think we used OBS Project on a spare station that connected to an IP camera which broadcast it out to our YouTube Channel. After a bit of fiddling to setup it worked really well, even allows you to slip in messages and blanking cards for when the chicks have been removed or if the cage is being cleaned.

Can you stream it to a private youtube or twitch stream and embed the code for that on the site?

Our chicks have just gone to their homes, We used a laptop with USB cams, OBS to stream to YouTube, set to unlisted with link emailed out to parents and staff.
