cdwyer Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 Hi all, This has slowly affected more and more machines within our domain. When attempting to connect to Youtube and quite a few other HTTPS sites, an error message appears saying 'Your connection is not private' with NET:ERR_CERT_WEAK_SIGNATURE_ALGORITHM I'm guessing this is to do with the way our Lightspeed Rocket is handling the traffic, but i'm not sure how to fix it. Any help would be much obliged. Thank you!
rom1984 Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 I had a similar problem and Lightspeed needed to remote into the rocket to make the changes. They said it was a known problem but didn't actually provide the fix to me, they said they needed to actually remote in to resolve it.
duzzie Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 We are having the same issue, ours is a problem with certificates and eSafe software. Smoothwall have been looking into it as it seems it is an issue on their side. To get round it we have turned off SSL inspection (temporary)
cdwyer Posted May 16, 2017 Author Posted May 16, 2017 What version of Chrome does this affect? Version 58 I believe it is! I've just contacted lightspeed and will update with what they say. 1
fiza Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 I'm on Chrome 58.0.3029.110 and using Smoothwall (Glamis 3) with no issues. We have https inspection enabled.
korifugi Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 We're running 58.0.3029.110 behind a Sophos UTM and are affected.
TechMonkey Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 (edited) Is this not the Chrome 58 issue reported before? Lightspeed need to update their certificate or you can set a GPO or push out a Registry key to set Chrome to temporarily ignore the issue. Until Chrome 66 EDIT: This thread - http://www.edugeek.net/forums/internet-related-filtering-firewall/182708-google-not-secure-your-connection-not-private.html Edited May 16, 2017 by TechMonkey
cdwyer Posted May 16, 2017 Author Posted May 16, 2017 I have tried the reg key which doesn't appear to be working unfortunately, do you know off the top of your head what the method was using GPO?
Duke5A Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 If I had to guess the cert it's complaining about uses SHA1 for its signature.
