Most of you will be reading this is your Windows 10 start just one day stopped working. The only know fix was to re-image the PC.

I can now share a quick work around.... download and install classic shell start menu, you now have the option of both menus. If you prefer to disable the classic shell than the original W10 menu is fixed and working.

Bizarre I know, but it beats re-imaging PCs.

Does Classic Shell have to remain installed (either enabled or disabled) or can you uninstall it straight after installing it and continue using the original Start Menu?

Would like to know this too, just migrating some users to 10 and would like to know whether to use Classic Shell or now or use customised Widows 10 start menu using XML which looks like there been a list of nightmares with it. Cheers

Hi Guys,

Sadly uninstalling classic shell doesn't fix the original problem of the W10 menu. You need to leave Classic menu installed but default to original W10 menu.

Managed to resolve my Windows 10 Start Menu - I was using a redirected start menu which worked fine - except I had to make sure any of the shortcuts I wanted pinned were also included in the redirected start menu.
