Students Home Folders

Just wondering how long people tend to keep students home folders after they have left. Just starting to have a tidy up of my servers and have quite a lot of old student data stored

indefinitely - we keep them on Google drive and it's free

I archive them on a pretty capacious NAS, currently they're kept for 11 years but that's probably excessive! I've yet to see definitive requirements, as this isn't part of their official school records I think five years is more than enough really. I think I've had one request for them in 11 years.

12 years and counting so far on a couple of very cheap NAS's.

 

Hardly ever asked for anything but like all things the Law of Sod applies, keep it and never need it, don't keep it and get asked for it....
