DCUK6 Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 Just transferred the SIMS server onto the domain. We are running win 10 and office 2016. When users try to run reports they get a Error. Could not open macro storage I can however run these reports under my user. Office 16 doesn't have the 97 binaries but nothing is blocked in there. Have checked the simsroot folder. Their documents is redirected to the server and the MY SIMS Documents have been created in each of the users drives. Any ideas? Thanks
SteveB Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 Tmpsimsrpt folder in My Documents can be added as a trusted location for server bases My Docs storage via options in word or at policy level. Try that
DCUK6 Posted April 29, 2017 Author Posted April 29, 2017 Thanks Steve. Will give it a try when I get back in
ChrisH Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 Did you have any luck with this, I have tried both the suggestions but still getting the error with W10/O2016?
DCUK6 Posted December 5, 2017 Author Posted December 5, 2017 I did, Trying to remember exactly what it was. Heres what i can remember from my GPO Microsoft Word 2016/Word Options/Security/Trust Center/File Block Settings - Word 97 binary documents and templates - Do not block Microsoft Word 2016/Word Options/Security/Trust Center/Trusted Locations -Allow Trusted Locations on the network - Trusted location #1 - fileSVR\staff\%username%\My Documents\tempSimsRpt 1
ChrisH Posted December 6, 2017 Posted December 6, 2017 Got it, it was the allow trusted locations on the network that I was missing, should have been an obvious one to add!
