bald_pig Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 (edited) Afternoon all, I've been talking to @localzuk about doing something for stand up to cancer for the forum, and while we agree it's a good idea, he's short on time and I'm short on ideas! I was thinking of something along the lines of a marathon stream, if anybody would like to contribute ideas and volunteer time, I'd love to hear in the thread. Thanks all https://www.standuptocancer.org.uk/gaming Edited April 19, 2017 by ZeroHour 3
DalekSec Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 I'm up for doing part of a stream (Gaming, i can't really do anything else, unless you want me to talk about Monty Python or Doc' Who) if you need contributors
Bedders Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 I'm in if anyone wants to do a marathon of gaming, but it'll have to be a weekend!
DalekSec Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 I'm in if anyone wants to do a marathon of gaming, but it'll have to be a weekend! I believe it's meant to take place on the 29th April according to the website, which is a Saturday! 1
X-13 Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Hmm... Does sound interesting. And I do want to get back into streaming, I've just been too busy with work.
CAM Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Sadly I can't stream. Edugeek Siege stream maybe? @DMcGuigan
Garacesh Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I certainly have a setup that would be capable of streaming, though I've never actually done any. I'd love to get involved.

bald_pig Posted April 21, 2017 Author Posted April 21, 2017 Good to see some support! One of the things I was thinking of was playing the Jackbox party pack games together, we should be able to play together remotely, if anyone would like to help me test this weekend pm me I'll also sort out comparing steam libraries to see what we can play together

Xellpnz Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 (edited) I can stream if need be! Wanted to do a DnD live stream session for charity, along side MMORPG leveling runs with people. Alot idea's, never the time or people to do it with hah. One suggestion i have is maybe Tabletop simulator? Board games, and many laughs guaranteed! Edited April 21, 2017 by Xellpnz
DalekSec Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 Overwatch stream? Theres a bunch of use who've played together before and it's one of the most streamed games atm
Xellpnz Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 Maybe we can do one monthly? With different themes? So an Overwatch one, then board game night, Counter Strike night, Horror Themed one at halloween, etc etc etc 1
Garacesh Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 Maybe we can do one monthly? With different themes? So an Overwatch one, then board game night, Counter Strike night, Horror Themed one at halloween, etc etc etc Ooh that would be nice. It would also provide us ample opportunity to jump in and out if we had/didn't have the game/time/etc as well as keep things a bit 'fresh' with different themes. I don't mind buying a few games for the sake of it though I already donate to Cancer Research and Macmillan every month.. Cancer can do one as far as I'm concerned, so anything to help. The big question for @ZeroHour and @Dos_Box to answer though, is do we want to do this 'as Edugeek', or are we all just Edugeek members doing something nice? At the end of the day EduGeek is a fully-fledged organisation at this point and it wouldn't be fair for us to act 'as Edugeek' without the blessing of the overlords owners.

Oh i totally agree, peeing off the powers above is something i rather not do But if they are willing to allow us to front a Event every so often, and talk geeky while we play and have a cracking good time. And i think Monthly, or every other month would be great for people to get time settled down to maybe join in and help. Hell, maybe one day do something like "Games done quick" https://gamesdonequick.com In a big hall for a day or two with alot people just being dorks . I donate to them every year, as much as i can. Along with Childsplay.
X-13 Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 Hell, maybe one day do something like "Games done quick" https://gamesdonequick.com Mediocre games done badly. games done slow.

"Yeah, so, I'm inviting a load of techs and NM's from other schools to have a massive LAN gaming session in our main hall, is that alright? I promise there won't be any alcohol...." Can't wait to see how that'll go down in some schools! 1

To now lift my PC, i think it weights more than a dwarf star. So there is only one answer to a LAN party for me..... i need a LAN Gaming PC! (or laptop)...
