Anyone using Lego Robolab?

I can't seem to get the software to work properly.

Can't seem to delete nodes when using inventor mode and also can't seem to "grab" hold of connectors when attaching them to other nodes.

I've actually got 2 versions of the software but RMs own MSI seems to install with various VI files missing.

Any ideas?

Been playing around with it most of the afternoon now without success.

Might try mailing someone on there eventually.

Actually downloaded the patch off that site earlier today which produced some interesting error messages.

btw the patch didn't say anything about my problem.

Annoying thing is I've seen the s/w working at a different site last year. Not sure which version that was. Tried mailing them last week and got no reply. I think a phone call might be on the cards

Cheers anyway Mr Wes

We have Robolab installed on some machines. Not sure how much use it has had recently or what version it is. The only fiddly thing i remember about the install was that permissions needed changing on the install folder and i think it may have put somthing in the windows folder that required a perms change.

Will have a look 2mora.

You tried the tech support page :

http://www.lego.com/eng/service/techsupport.asp?x=x

Or there FAQ ?? Maybe even contacting them :)

Unless there support sucks ( Thats the only reason I can think of , of why you didnt try to do that ) lol.

Yeah the tech support is not the best but Ok for hardware.

I came to suspecting last night after some research that I just didn't know how to use the software. It seems that when Robolab starts up it doesn't load one of the tool palletes.

From lego

Once you have placed all of the icons in the Diagram window, they must be arranged in sequence. Use the Select tool, to move the commands.
Couldn't see much else.

Upon doing a Google search (Robolab "Select Tool") I managed to come across a PDF on Lego's site this morning that pointed out how to load the Tool pallete.

Everything is clear now. :D

My excuse is far too much multitasking yesterday afternoon.

Going to have a day doing one thing at a time.

First job replacing toners
