Okay, let me kick this forum off then...

I have just replaced my laptop, after the previous one annoyed me too much with a tendency to randomly turn off. This could be nothing more than a quick bit of solder needed somewhere, but I can't say I have the know-how to do that. Other than that, the laptop is a reasonable spec - less than 3 yrs old, Toshiba Satellite Pro A10, 2.4Ghz Celeron, 30GB HDD, 768MB RAM (original 256MB plus 512MB upgrade), DVD, XP Home (incl recovery CD).

If anyone is interested in seeing if they can fix it and get it working, I'm open to offers for it.

(insert disclaimer stating I offer no warranty on it, nor do I guarantee that it is repairable...)

I kind of assume this will probably need a new motherboard, do you know a part number for the motherboard at all? (Might be in the manual)?

Cheers

I can check for you if you're genuinely interested in it (unlikely the people offering me prices that won't even cover the petrol/parking costs of driving to the Post Office!).
