Try changing the laptop resolution to 1024 x 768 or 800 x 600 and check the refresh rate .

Projector model is an epsom eb485i , i think , and i tried changing the resolution , starting with the lowest , and it does it again , and ive also learnt

yesterday a replacement laptop does the same thing , so its something to do with the board or projector.

Does the projector have a different type of connection (HDMI, etc.) you can try?

If the projector is connected via a wall socket (wires in the walls running to the projector) you could try plugging a VGA cable directly into the project from the laptop.

Does the laptop do the same thing with a different projector?
