ndavies Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 I have an RM One whose fan power cable has dislodged and moved perilously close to the fan and is coming into contact with it. I need to open up the back of the RM One, but can tell what tool I need. It doesn't look like torx and it's definately not a screw. Does anybody else have RM Ones and know what tool I need to open it. Ta
Phil_tech Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Usually the RM's ship with a little plastic wallet with something that looks similar to an Allan Key in it to take the back off. If its of any use to you we just used a small flat head screwdriver in our place and replaced the original screws with stubby phillips head screws for ease of use in the future.
ndavies Posted March 6, 2008 Author Posted March 6, 2008 Thanks I've ordered an RM "Security Screwdriver". A flat head won't seem to get the thing out. Nick
MkII Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 I came to this thread to see if the RM One really did have an admirer! lol
rhyds Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 A bit too late now, but ask the caretaker(s) if they have a set of "security bits". These are like torx/flat/crosshead bits but with a hole that goes around the pin in the centre of certain security screws.
