zag Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 I'm a bit surprised but I am having awful trouble getting an office 365 account to connect using outlook 2016 I type in the email address and autodiscover works, but then I get a "windows shell dll has stopped working" error. Really weird as I tested on Windows 7 with outlook 2016 and no issues at all. I also tested under my admin account on Windows 10 with outlook 2016 and that also works. Just seems to be a problem under a teacher account. Anyone else seen this?
bald_pig Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 I'm using outlook 2016 with windows 10 here, not seen anything like that.
AliG Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 I have seen this it's to do with having a proxy setting or something along those lines give me a minute

kidpressingbuttons Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Make sure you have run windows update. Mine won't work after fresh builds until it's pulled down some updates!
zag Posted March 30, 2017 Author Posted March 30, 2017 Thanks all, some great advice there. It is definitely a proxy issue, If I untick "Automatically detect settings" in the proxy config there is no crash. Just removing the proxy details does not appear to be enough. oh Microsoft....
