IE not work but chrome is + Internet Explorer Maintenance

I tried to push out new setting but I seem to have stopped IE work but I have notices that Internet Explorer Maintenance setting are still in place. Could this be causing the issue?

 

How do I remove these setting from group policy?

There's a useful thread on her about that - somewhere. We did it by setting up a machine to run XP then It's a case of downloading Group Policy Maintenance to that machine and you should be able to see the settings through that.

I removed it from the policy by editing the attributes but do I need to reset the reg keys?

Just noticed this

I have an SMT laptop that works fine using Chrome and Firefox but the teacher needs IE for a course - online and 'requires IE' !!!

 

When she has tried it it just starts up, display a blank IE screen for a split second and then stops

 

downloaded IE but it won't install as 'a newer version is already installed'

 

can't remove it doesn't appear

 

could this be the same??

Have a look on the HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Connections backup and delete the whole lot.

 

I am currently looking at this a I seem to have some settings in here that are causing my issue i think it may be connections.
