I'm hoping this is something simple that I'm missing.

We have a school that is able to use Teacher App without issue on Windows and Android devices on their staff network. However, their iPads will only get as far as entering the email address to login. At this point, the Office 365 login page shows the "Redirecting" message (as expected) but never gets any further than that.

However, the same iPads work fine on the school's guest network, suggesting that the issue is with their staff proxy. They can login to Office 365 apps on the iPads no problem on the staff network, and as I said Windows and Android devices work fine on the same proxy, so it appears to be some combination of proxy setting and iPads in particular that is causing an issue.

Any ideas?

The school in question isn't using Smoothwall, but they are handing off most traffic to their ISP's proxy who may be using Smoothwall - is there some odd issue with Smoothwall I should be aware of? Might give me a clue...

EDIT: their internal proxy just captures ADFS requests and allows them straight through, redirects everything else via the ISP proxy. Works fine for everything except Teacher App on an iPad

Im having the same issue with this app since the 4.8.7 update at the end of May. I have this issue at a school with a custom login page with a federated partner. This occurs whether or not they are on the normal wifi or even on an open TPLink wifi router which is then directly connected to the same BT Cisco router as my internal managed network. So basically, there are no internal routers, switches, proxy/web filter between my iPad and the outside world and yet still my iPad hangs at 'redirecting'. This has been since a change in the browser string used by Capita SIMS and reverting back to 4.8.5 and suddenly everything works again, though this is not feasible to do for a school full of people.

What is so frustrating however is that it works on 3G and at home, so the only thing I can blame at the moment is BT and/or their router but they just won't entertain this as a support ticket as their service is working fine as far as they're concerned.

Capita tried to make a change to the web site the App uses for signing in last night which I expected would alleviate this issue however they have only made things worse (breaking it for a 2nd school that have their own internal ADFS login page,) so now I have 2 schools with the same inability to use the app.

If anyone has any insight on this or are seeing similar issues, I'd be interested to hear it.
