[ipad] Apple School Manager / MDM /DEP

Hi,

 

Can someone please clarify somethings for me.

 

I recently moved to Apple.School.com but have never used my old DEP in anger. I dont have a mac to stick my ipads in supervised mode so will I be able to use school.com instead?

 

I'm giving Zuludesk a try, I've setup the school to Zulu link.

 

Just confusing how I get the devices in the consoles....I've read loads

You need to have the devices supervised to use the full features of ZuluDesk.

 

But you can enrol in ZuluDesk via a URL. I can't recall exactly where it is without logging on but I thought is was easy enough to find

If you have the ability to use DEP I'd strongly recommend using it. As it's done as the device is first setup the students can't opt out or remove the profiles. If you supervise them via Apple Configurator then the students can remove the Zulu desk profile and there's nothing you can do to stop them.

 

We rolled out our 1to1 iPads before DEP was available in the UK but last summer we recalled the lot of them, wiped and added to DEP now management is far far easier!

I forgot how much I hate them, 10 emails, 7 phone calls and no one can give me a direct answer as to why they aren't showing on my console.

 

Found out eventually why, they are too old.

Classroom Manager... I got that wrong, there is no minimum spec for minis.

 

I have a receipt from the Apple Store, I bought it via business sales and my customer ID is right but they arent showing up.

So you have put your Apple Customer ID in and are expecting your devices to show in DEP?
