Smartphone - copy information from apps to PC

Hi Guys

 

More and more we are asked, by behavior team, to copy snapchat/facebook/whats up conversations from kids phones - as a proof of bullying or other bad behavior. So far we just been using our phones to take pictures of it.

 

But maybe you know a better way? Some program that can access and download that information to a PC? Soon enough we will be running here IT forensics

We screenshot it on the phone itself, then transfer that image to our PCs. I would recommend not involving your personal mobile in the process at all!

We do the same. The student takes a screenshot and then we just connect their phone to a pc in our office and let the student transfer the photos. We wouldn't want to do it any other way.

The problem with screenshot, snapchat will notify the sender that it was done - we have kids that report this case to the school, but don't want sender to know that they done it. That's why it done with taking picture. Always done in presence of the pupil and SLT member and deleted straight after sending to them - just in case of any accusation.

First link not usable for us as we don't have macs here.
