Local printer GPO problems.

Right I have added a local printer to my print server and have right clicked create group policy object from there.

I have then created an AD group and applied that to the GPs scope. I removed Authenticated users from the scope so only the devices in the AD group should get the printer.

However all users seem to be getting it mapped. I have no idea as it all look right and another engineer has looked and agreed. Anyone had this issue before?

I never had much luck doing it that way. Any reason not to use shared printers/GPP?

Tried twice setting it up that way at two schools and it was always problematic. You couldn't remove printers and they wrote themselves into the registry differently. It also ment that during logon the user had to wait an extra step while the printer was added "installing group policy printers" or something was the verbose log. Always had success and faster logins with a logon script. The printer gets installed after login so they don't need to wait. There's some pretty clever printer scripts on here I believe..
