binky Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Ok, Got in this morning and my PC has suddenly slowed right down when it comes to network speed, the PC next to me that is on the same switch comes out at about 4000+ kbps (speedtest.net) and my pc has 52 kbps! I have searched google, rolled back the drivers, updated the drivers, stopped all but critical services, and really do not want to do a reinstall. Anyone got any ideas
Sylv3r Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Have you checked for spyware by any chance? Also faulty HDD, NIC or RAM may be at fault.
sahmeepee Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Did your computer make an annoying screeching noise before connecting to the network? *hides*
binky Posted February 28, 2008 Author Posted February 28, 2008 AntiVir, Adware, and Spybot all found no problems, I had this problem 6 months ago and a rebuild worked fine, however I now have over 1TB of data that would need moving which would be a problem.
strawberry Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 changed the nic card ? *clutches the straws even tighter*
binky Posted February 28, 2008 Author Posted February 28, 2008 thanks for the idea, I will try this tommorrow...
