I know salamander can auto create AD accounts from sims but will these accounts show in the RMMC?

Is anyone using salamander's AD software with an RM network?

Thanks

@tj2419

CC4 utilises Postgres Database behind the RMMC which the AD is populated from so the answer would be no, to test this create a user account in AD manually and check the RMMC and you will see for yourself,

If Salamander can write to the Postgres database as the RMMC does then yes not a problem it would work fine then :)

We're using Salamander and CC4.

What they do is create a CSV of the users you want to import (eg new students that have appeared in SIMS since yesterday) and save it in a given folder on the network and email you telling you it's there.

You then go into RMMC and users > import, pick the .CSV and hit next/ok a few times. It has all the necessary template/folder/server columns populated so you don't need to change anything in the import wizard.

Why does your admin staff not create your CSV from within Sims?

Ours does with the new starters and we just bulk import via the RMMC easy peasy!

Why pay for something which can be done for free anyway?

Or am I missing something here?

Ha ha ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha ha.

Sorry, seriously - we use Salamander for all sorts, not just RMMC - they create and maintain Exchange accounts and mailing lists, GApps accounts, Classrooms, parent AD accounts (outside of RMMC), Parent Portal links.

Sorry to resurrect an old post but can I ask if you have to import CSV files everyday to ensure AD is upto date? Because of the CSV upload situation does it take 2 days for changes to be reflected in Google? Does it work like this : Salamander runs overnight, you pick up the CSV and upload to RM CC4 to alter AD. You then run GCDS overnight to sync changes to G Suite?
