garethEds Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Afternoon All, We have a Belkin KVM screen on site which is meant to service 8 machines. However all are reporting as 'Out of Range'. I have connected a monitor and changed one of the machines to the lowest resolution possible but it is still showing out of range. The image then shows on the monitor. Plugging it back into the KVM then displays 'Out of Range' again. I've tried different cables but it makes no difference. Any help appreciated. Cheers Gareth
difinity Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 It sounds like the KVM is failing. I've seen faulty power supplies in HP IP KVMs do similar.
robyholmes Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Have you tried connect the KVM to the money, power the monitor up then the KVM? The KVM will need to detect the monitor and sounds like its now doing.
3s-gtech Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 I've seen similar when the KVM power supply has been failing - some can draw power from the connected VGA ports but these issues can surface when doing so. Ours locks up occasionally - it's powered via the USB ports so to reboot it I have to pull them all out and plug them in the correct ports again!
garethEds Posted January 10, 2017 Author Posted January 10, 2017 Afternoon all, Weirdly enough, I've just gone over to get serial numbers and cable numbers for the KVM and it seems to have woken up and is now working again. Really strange that it hasn't worked since before Christmas and now suddenly bang - it's there. Thanks everyone. Gareth
